The goal is to make an usb device so I can play in the space mode with an external input device like the Con-Console on the Galaxy Class in Star Trek. This console is like a thouchpanel with the look of the LCARS-System. It will be a small device like a usb-keyboard.

1. Create of the Panel-Layout

The first step is to create the layout for the touch surface so I can see where I have to place the components (LED, IR-Diode, Phototransistor and Resistor).

To see how many components I need and how many LED’s I do need for a good homogen illumination also for the testing the sensors, I create a prototype to test it.
